About the artist: Maria Stuckey
Maria always wanted to work for Disney. Growing up in Florida, she frequented the Disney Parks with her family and watched Disney animated films constantly. This love for animation and theme parks motivated her to seek a degree in illustration from the Ringling College of Art and Design. After graduating in 2007, she interned with the Disney Design Group as a character artist, designing theme park merchandise, where she's been ever since.
Throughout her career at Disney, Maria has contributed to a multitude of exciting projects, including the opening line of merchandise for the Shanghai Disney Resort helping to develop and launch the Disney Park Wishables plush line. In addition to creating pins and cute and cuddly plush toys, she has had the opportunity to work on merchandise for new attractions, including Remy's Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT, Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World Resort and the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction in EPCOT.
As a self-proclaimed ''Disney nerd,'' every day is truly a dream come true as she gets to immerse herself in the stories and characters that have played such a large part in her life. Maria is currently a product designer for the Marvel team at Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, assembling a whole team of cool products and designs featuring a universe of heroes.
About the artist: Kate Dykstra
Kate grew up in Florida, where she would watch countless Disney animated films and went to the Walt Disney World Resort every year with her family. After seeing real-life animators inside the Animation Academy, formerly located in Disney's Hollywood Studios, she knew she wanted a career in art – her ultimate dream being to work at Disney someday.
She attended the University of Tampa and graduated with a bachelor's degree in fine arts. During college, she started travelling across the country, attending pop culture conventions as an artist while working on several projects over the years.
Kate began her career designing licensed sports apparel and eventually made her way to Disney. She currently is an assistant product designer for the pin trading team and enjoys being able to tell stories, share her passion for Disney Parks, and create magic every day through the pins she has an opportunity to help design.
