Pin Description:
This 50th anniversary commemorative pin might be a tie tac, because the pin post backer is of the spring loaded kind that is used on tie tacs. It depicts Sleeping Beauty's Castle in a bright shiny gold tone with a large number "50" on the front of the castle covering the draw bridge. At the bottom of the pin is a banner that has the Disneyland Resort logo. It is made of cast metal in a very detailed design. This pin is an exact three dimensional rendering of the 50th logo used on the Magical Milestone pin series and other merchandise during the 50th anniveersary of Disneyland. It measures 1" from top to bottom and approx. 3/4" at the widest width of the banner. The back of the pin has a mini-square waffle pattern with one pin post and two sub-posts on either side. The pin post cover is a bright gold bell shaped, spring loaded, of a push/pull type used on tie tacs. At the bottom is a square with the words "(c)Disney China" This pin was on clearance at Company D in Anaheim and the CM selling it had no information about its release date, sku#, or original price, or what its original purpose was. However, one CM who worked during the time of the 50th celebration mentions, that as far as she knows, "this pin was never sold at any of the team centers during that time. It's just speculation, but it was either not received in time to release for the 50th or forgotten in a box in the warehouse. Many CM pins have the metal (square waffle pattern) back and not the mickey heads. It could also have been meant as a CM gift?" Anyone with more info about this pin, please post it in additional information.Updated 2024-08-20 05:57:17
