For this original attraction at Disneyland, Disney designer Tony Baxter was intrigued by the scenery at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, so he deisgned the first Big Thunder Moutain to resemble it. The other Big Thunder Mountain Railroads resemble scenery at Monument Valley. Dallas McKinnon provided the voice of character asking Guests to "hold on to them hats and glasses." He also provided the voice of Ben Franklin in the American Adventure Pavilion at Epcot®.
