That year, Disney's California AdventureTM Park, Downtown Disney® District and Disney's Grand Californian Hotel opened. This Open Edition spinner pin pays tribute to these exciting new additions. Chris Chapman from Disney Design Group created the artwork for this pin.

Disney's California AdventureTM Park was built on the former parking lot for Disneyland® Park. This new 55-acre park opened on February 8, 2001. To accomodate Guest parking, Walt Disney Imagineers built the world's largest parking structure able to hold 10,000 vehicles.
