Pin Description:
This dining pin was limited to Annual Passholders who made single food purchases of $30 or more (before tax and after discounts) at selected restaurants throughout DLR. This is pin number 9, the final pin in the "Five Decades of Disney Dining" series available to Annual Passholders. Featuring "Spaceman" Goofy and his box artwork from the 1955 Disneyland guidebook. The inside lid of the presenation box reads: "In May 1998, the "new" Tomorrowland invited Guests to enjoy "space-age dining" at Redd Rockett's Pizza Port. According to intergalactic legend, Redd Rockett was a space pilot who searched the planets for the most delicious pizza in the universe. Not finding any to his liking, he decided to open up his own "pizza port." His restaurant now sits on the launching pad of the former Mission to Mars attraction. Just outside the restaurant stands the needle-nose Moonliner rocket, one of Disneyland's signature attractions of a bygone era. The original red and white rocket was a Disneyland icon from 1955 to 1966. Beneath the rocket is a specialized vending cart where Cast Members serve up Coca-Cola beverages in "anti-gravity" bottles that literally "blast" into space!" Size: approx. 1 5/8" H x 1 3/4" W.
