Because HM are notorious for being counterfeited, pay special attention to the appearance of the back for signs of a fake pin. A photo of the back of the real HM pin has been provided. Note the seal has short stumpy points. Fakes typically have aseal with longer sharper points. The positioning of the two tiny posts next to the main post can also be indicative of a fake. They are often too large or spread too far apart in the fake ones.
