Pin Description:

This is part of the first series of Cast Lanyard exclusive pins released at WDW in 2002 to address the lack of diversity in trading options on cast lanyards. There were no hidden mickey symbols on these pins. The pins were released throughout the year in eight different batches, much like modern hidden mickey pins, however they did not release a whole design collection at once. Instead, they released one pin from each collection at a time. You could not complete a series until the final batch was released. The pins were found exclusively on WDW Cast Member Lanyards and were never available for sale with the exception of the Completers that were later released in 2006. Another almost identical set of License Plate pins were released in 2007 with the hidden mickey symbol printed on them.

Released in Batch 5. This pin is a rectangle shaped Florida license plate with the word DOPEY with his silhouette behind it in a lighter green. The license is white with Florida printed in yellow and orange. DOPEY is printed in green. On the top left is an orange box with JUL printed in it. On the top right is a yellow box with '02 printed in it.Centered across the bottom are the words Walt Disney World in green.

The back of the authentic version of this pin has the date 2002 in the Mickey head pin trading logo. Under that is a box with the word "Disney" in classic Disney font, and under that the words "Made in China." On the right is a box with the word "Disney's" in classic Disney font, and under that, the words, "Lanyard Pin Series."

The dimensions of this hidden pin are exactly 4.5 cm by slightly longer (2-3 mm) than 1.5 cm. There are no sharp pricks/nubs on the back of the pins in this series; only a single pin post.
