DLR/WDW - Wild About Safety - Block the Sun, Not the Fun Lanyard pin featuring characters from Walt Disney's "The Lion King" (Timon and Pumbaa). # 7 of 12 Continuing its long tradition of Safety leadership, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts launched the Wild About Safety campaign on May 22, 2003 with a press and media event. This entertaining educational program that uses two of Disney's most popular characters -- Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King -- to teach Guests about Resort safety in a fun and uniquely Disney way. As the official campaign "spokescharacters," everyone's favorite meerkat and warthog team up to demonstrate the consequences of unsafe behavior in a series of funny illustrations now appearing in activity books and other Guest materials at both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
