Description
WDW - Lunar New Year 2018 - Pluto This pin commemorates Lunar (Chinese) New Year for 2018, the Year of the Dog.Pluto is shown on this pin. The background is round with a yellow gold glitter color. It has a smooth outer ring with 2018 engraved at the top and LUNAR NEW YEAR engraved on the bottom. Inside the ring on a textured translucent background are Chinese characters embossed. There are 2 separate pin on pin features. The larger pin on pin is Pluto dressed in a red oriental patterned top with a green print pattern and a green collar. He is walking with an open mouth smile and tongue hanging out. The second pin on pin is "attached" to the end of his tail and is a red paper lantern that pivots at the end of his tail. The backside of the lantern top pin has a stop pin which stops the movement against the outer edge of the round base pin. The Chinese characters in the background are 招財進寶 (zhao cai jin bao) which is to usher wealth and prosperity in the new year! This pin was released for the Lunar New Year Festival at Disney's California Adventure (DCA) on January 26, 2018 and at Walt Disney World (WDW) on February 1, 2018.
