Maleficent's elegant hauteur has distinguished her among the great villains of Disney animation, though beneath that cool restraint lurks a volcanic fury which is all-too-easily unleashed. The multicolored design of this pin has been adapted from both poster and record album art promoting the 1970 theatrical re-release of Walt Disney's 1959 masterpiece, Sleeping Beauty. Though the groovy colors reflect the times, the image is itself an adaptation of an early concept illustration by Disney Legend Marc Davis, one of the films directing animators and designer of the evil fairy. Red, purple, magenta, orange and fiery yellow are all a part of Maleficent's dynamic, incendiary cloak: the kaleidoscopic wake of a villains rage. Designed by Stacia Martin, Disney Sketch Artist & Historian. The pin measures 4" in length and 2.75" at is widest. It is a flat pin. This pin is all hard enamel. And black-finished. And the flames (and Maleficent's cape) are at least four different colors, very distinctly different because all are hard enamel elements. Comes in a black velveteen box, that has the Castle & Stacia signature, and © Disney, in gold on top of the white satin lining of the lid. Two posts, located on far left and right sides. Dark grey finished back.
