Description
To commemorate the third and final episode in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, "Star Wars Revenge of the Sith", which opened in movie theaters on May 19, 2005, Lucas Films released a series of character and emblem pins. The character pins are presented in an animation style similar to the design shown on the Star War show on Cartoon Network. Each pin is hand-crafted in a process that begins with a flat piece of brass which is then die struck and filled with enamel color (referred to as "new cloisonne" which retains the characteristics of classic cloisonne while offering a much wider selection of colors). The surface is then polished to give it a smooth, durable finish. These pins were sold at Disney MGM Studios during Star Wars Weekends 2005 as well as at other retailers. This pin features DARTH VADER, presented as a side profile view with red and gold flames trailing behind. All edged in gold. The pin is set in a gold base metal, and is mounted on the Official Star Wars Collector Pin cardboard backing display. The pin itself is attached to backing display card with a black rubber clutch, which is also used to wear the pin. The back of the pin is gold and reads "Star Wars 2005 Lucasfilm Ltd and TM Pin USA". Original cellophane packaging.
