Released in 2011 for Disneyland Resort's Sci-Fi Academy event, the Commander Mickey's Sci-Fi Adventures limited edition framed pin set features an intricate scene designed by Mike Sullivan. The artwork depicts Commander Mickey at his field study headquarters, where he gathers "Sci-Fi treasures" with the assistance of his robotic companion, R.A.L.F. (Reality Alterer with Language Function).
The set includes several unique pins representing artifacts Mickey has collected, such as Stitch's spaceship from Lilo & Stitch, the Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, an Omnidroid from The Incredibles, a helmet from TRON, and a central Mickey Mouse pin. The detailed background is packed with references to various Disney space-themed films and attractions, including posters for The Black Hole and Space Mountain, an 8-bit Mickey arcade game, WALL-E and Eve, and the Meet the Robinsons time machine. Measuring approximately 9" tall by 12.5" wide, this set was a Limited Edition of 250.
