Working Day October 1, 2011 - Full Set (5 pins)

View Pin - P&P ID: 81225

Description:
This 40th Anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort pin set was given exclusively to Magic Kingdom Park, Contemporary Resort, Fort Wilderness Resort, and Polynesian Resort cast members who worked on October 1, 2011, the day of the 40th Anniversary. The backer card is an 8 x 10 illustration of the original Walt Disney World Resort map when it opened in 1971. The illustration depicts the Magic Kingdom, the Monorail track around the resort, the golf Clubhouse, Disney's Transportation & Ticket Center, the Seven Seas Lagoon, Bay Lake, the Contemporary Resort, the Polynesian Resort, and the Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Other points of interest on the illustration include proposed expansions to the resort that were not yet built, including an Asian resort (now the Grand Floridian), a Venetian resort (remains undeveloped), Blackbeard's Island (now Discovery Island), and a Persian resort (now parking). The individual pins depict the original logos of the Magic Kingdom, the Polynesian Resort, the Contemporary Resort, and the Fort Wilderness Campground Resort. The fifth pin in the set features Mickey Mouse leaning on a banner that commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort, reading "Celebrating 40 Years of Magic, Walt Disney World®".
