Pin Description:
This pin was apart of a cast exclusive set. Each pin had a trading card that provided details about each attraction. The attractions represented in this collection were all extinct attractions that had closed by 1990. This particular pin commemorates the now-retired attraction "Flying Saucers" and features the ride vehicle.The accompanying trading card read as follows:
"Truly state-of-the-art in
technological terms and a nightmare in operational terms, the futuristic Flying Saucers found a home in Tomorrowland in 1961. A cross between bumper cars and hovercraft, the Saucers floated on a 16,000-square-foot arena of air generated by four 100 HP motors. In 1966 the attraction was removed during construction of the New
Tomorrowland."
This set was sold at Company D in Walt Disney World as well.
