Pin Description:
One of a series of pins sold to cast members only during Disneyland's 40th anniversary. There are fourteen pins in the series, released in three separate sets of five, five, and four pins. Each pin in the series represents an attraction that was closed and removed from Disneyland before 1995. This pin is a part of Set #2.This pin shows one of the central ticket booths. Ticket booths were located throughout the Park and themed according to their location. Each attraction had required a ticket to ride, prior to the introduction of the Passports in 1983.
The trading card that accompanied it has the following caption:
"When Disneyland opened, each attraction required a ticket to ride. Ticket booths were located throughout the Park and themed according to their location. With the introduction of Passports in 1983, the need for these booths was eliminated. Some of these booths still remain in or near their original locations, adding charm and theming to their surroundings. The giant mushroom at the entrance to Alice in Wonderland is an example."
Also sold at Company D at Walt Disney World (Disney / MGM). The set of five pins was sold for $20.00 at both locations.
